Thanksgiving in NYC
We headed to NYC to stay with Katie and Karl over Thanksgiving - it was a great, fun-filled long weekend!
Here are John and I at the top of the Rockefeller Center

John, the nutcracker

Helen, the Rockette

The Rockette's Christmas Spectacular!! We had tickets to see Les Mis, but there was a strike, so we went to see the Rockettes instead.

Katie and Karl, enjoying cupcakes at their favorite cupcake place. John and I ate ours too fast for them to be documented.

We had a delightful little tea party

We had a not so delightful trip to Niagra Falls - it was so cold and the mist was so bad that we hardly got to see the falls at all. It was funny. We got ponchos, but it didn't really help.

We went to the Rochester Public Market on Saturday - it was actually a pretty great farmer's market with little shops and eateries surrounding it. Here we are posing in front of pig heads - good to know, in case I ever get a hankering for homemade head cheese.

These little piggies went to the market.

We also went to the Eastman Kodak museum - half of it was Eastman's house, the other half was a history of photography museum. Here is Maria in Eastman's library, reading something.

One of the special exhibits was on Mexican Pro Wrestling (think Nacho Libre) - I think John is a natural.

The following week, Dodger and I went on a little road trip to our nation's capital. We stopped off at Gettysburg for a stretch.

Here is the only picture of Ria and myself, taken by some bozo who apparently doesn't know how to clear the view of camera straps.

We went "monumenting" in order to get some good pics of Dodger for the 2008 calendar. It was somewhat unsuccessful, with the highlight being that Dodger jumped in the reflecting pool and went swimming off after some ducks.

I think this was right after her dip...

Toy Museum and 6-Month Belly Pic
John and I visited the Rochester Museum of Play last weekend. We enjoyed ourselves very much, as you will see. I think the museum is more tailored to children, but we fit right in. We did have to leave a little early, though, because there was a child having a temper tantrum in the last section of the museum and giving us both a panic attack.

John is really good at the slinky.

At the gift shop-

John, posing with a butterfly in the butterfly garden

Me, doing the same (I'm sure there's a butterfly in there somewhere)

If I kept the hula hoop above my belly, I actually did okay

John's super amazing awesome fortress - which I knocked down shortly after completion

6-Months - Egads.

Dodger, makeing sure the cradle is sturdy

Weekend of Waterfalls with Mom and Dad
Last weekend Mom and Dad came to visit - Mom just posted pictures from their camera. The highlights were donuts and cider at Letchworth Park (and viewing of 3 waterfalls), a trip to another country! (to see Niagra Falls), buffalo wings at the home of the original buffalo wing, pulling into a veggie factory to see piles and piles of carrots and beets, homemade coq au vain, and an all around great time. I will post my own pictures, a little more detail, and a 6-month belly shot ASAP.
p.s. Thanks Ma for the great picture posting!
