Labor Day Fun Times

Over Labor Day weekend, John and I were very busy. We attended both the National Buffalo Wing Festival and the New York State Balloon Festival. They were two great fests. I haven't really figured out how to work this blog thing to get it formatted correctly, so the pictures are a little out of order - apologies.

This is Dodger hiking at Letchworth State Park - you can see my hand comanding her to "stay" so she doesn't fall off the cliff. (Just thought I'd showcase my excellent parenting skills)

At the Buffalo Wing Fest - you bought tickets on your way in the park - each ticket got you 2 wings. It was John's favorite fest ever (possibly a tie with Bratfest). We missed the bobbing for wings in a pool of blue cheese dressing, and the National chicken wing eating contest. Apparently the Black Widow herself was there, she won the contest by downing 173 wings in 12 minutes. That made John and I feel a little bit better about the 40 wings we ate.

John, saucing up at one of the many booths

Back at the balloon fest. There were probably about 50-60 balloons, they all went up within about 10 minutes. It was pretty.

Looks like an absolutely beautiful weekend. Perfect for watching hot air balloons and eating chicken wings. I hope the two wing tickets were "reasonable"... OTherwise your 40 wings would be quite extravagant.
I'm glad that Dodger is soooo obedient when sitting on a cliff. I'm surprised that John allowed that. Did he freak out???
One little tiny edit: It is "John and me" when jut "I" doesn't sound right and you can substitute just "me" in the sentence. Just thought me should mention it...love you. mom

Yes, I know that grammatical rule, I just choose not to follow it. I don't want people to be intimidated by my intellect.

I want the one with the pink tulips on it! The parks look really neat, very "northeast" looking.
Your house looks really sweet, and voila, no lawn to mow!
Good luck on the job hunt. If all else fails you can give English grammar lessons online. Or start a cookie delivery service for all the students!

I credit the many corn dogs, compliments of you and John, for Amelia. I can only imagine how perfect baby pants is going to be being brought up on buffalo wings! Keep up the good work and good eatin'.

OK, who let the teachers in the blog? The grammar police are seriously cramping my ability to dash off pithy thoughts in between my macchiato break and checking Perez Hilton.

I can't wait to see Geneseo in its autumn splendor! We are really thrilled that you guys are so close (and not only for the bragging rights that we will prob be the first of the outside blogging parties to see the baby!! nananananana!).

On that note, can you speed it up a tad? I have many virtues but patience is not one of them. February is very far away. Try more chicken wings.

Love you guys. k.

Here is the comment that Iowa nicely "requested" I post in order to make your blog look even more popular than it clearly is:

I still can't believe I missed the buffalo wing festival - but there is just too too much going on in Geneseo-land to do everything, I suppose. At least I made it to that happening Avon market a few weeks later though!
